Project Story

This Vancouver homeowner had a backyard that nature had completely taken over. Dense weeds and wild plants covered what used to be a usable slope, making the yard both ugly and dangerous to navigate.

The Challenge

The sloped terrain made simple landscaping impractical. The homeowner needed a way to safely access different levels of their yard without risking a fall on the uneven ground.

Our Solution

After walking the property together, we agreed that a series of sturdy steps with a handrail would solve the problem. We designed the path to follow the natural flow of the yard, making it feel intentional rather than forced.

The Build

We cleared the overgrowth first, then marked out the step locations. Each step was carefully measured and leveled to handle the slope. We used weather-resistant materials that'll hold up to Pacific Northwest conditions for years. The handrail adds both safety and a finished look.

The Results

What was once an unusable hillside is now a functional pathway. The homeowner can access their entire property safely, and the stairs actually add to the curb appeal rather than looking like an afterthought.
